The Adjustment Bureau

Director: George Nolfi
Rating: PG-13

The Bouw-Man.
I’m sure the people behind “The Adjustment Bureau” are hoping their film will follow the success pattern of “Inception.” That being they’re hoping audience members will come out initially for the curiosity of the premise, and then enjoy a relatively long shelf life with good “word of mouth.”  This obviously is a best case scenario, and probably far from what will actually happen.  The preview seems to give away a great deal of the story, but I for one am still interested to see how this is put together.  It’s an interesting concept to think that every person has a life plan, and that there is a group in charge of seeing that it’s carried out properly.  Let’s just hope “The Adjustment Bureau” pulls out all the stops to keep it original, and free from the typical Hollywood

Unless he’s playing Jason Bourne, Matt Damon’s box office drawing power is anything but a guarantee.  “The Adjustment Bureau” has been given its share of advertising and marketing dollars, so most of the movie-going public knows that it exists.  I think it will post similar numbers to “Unkown,” in terms of its opening weekend gross.  Hence, let’s say $21.5 million for a thriller with a lot of pressure on itself.
Opening Weekend Gross: $21.5 Million

Noodles: Prediction
This month's 'Inception'. I love these high concept movies, I only hope they don't write themselves into a box. By that I mean, these adjusters seem very powerful in the preview, so how do you defy them for long? The questions begs me to watch the movie.
Opening Weekend Gross: $21 Million
