Weekend Results 6/25

Weekend Winner:
Toy Story 3
Opening Weekend: $59 Million
Results: I really hope that this summer doesn't have the lasting repercussion of making the next few years of summer films all CGI kid fests. Yet again an animated movie whacks the hell out of some former Hollywood heavyweights...in its second week of release no less! You just know that in some board room in Hollywood, panicked executives are trying to figure out how to make their upcoming romantic comedy into a 3D spectacular.

#2 at the Box Office :
Grown Ups
Opening Weekend: $40 Million

Our Predictions:
Noodles - $38 Million
The Bouw-Man - $35 Million

----------------------------------------
#3 at the Box Office :
Knight And Day
Opening Weekend: $27 Million (From Wednesday)
 Our Predictions:
Noodles - $85 Million
The Bouw-Man - $26 Million (Almost Perfect!)

Weekend Results 6/18

Weekend Winner:
Toy Story 3
Opening Weekend: $109 Million
 Our Predictions:
Noodles - $115 Million
The Bouw-Man - $125 Million
Results: As usual in our current movie going trend, the kid's movie beats the crap out of the live action films again. You have to wonder if Hollywood should stop trying to show us live action re-makes of classic children cartoons; think Marmaduke or the Chipmunks. As things stand, if they really want to make money they would reboot these old franchises as 3D CGI movies and program their way to the bank.

I won't say "I told you so" about the Jonah Hex fiasco, but hopefully this will let people know that if you want to make a western based on a comic book and you don't start and end with good storytelling over special effects, you deserve what you get. Hell, even Killers beat this movie after 3 weeks in release.

#8 at the Box Office {Just after Killers} :
Jonah Hex
Opening Weekend: $5 Million
Our Predictions:
Noodles - $8 Million
The Bouw-Man - $12 Million
