The Bouw-Man.
Does anyone remember the phenomenon that was, “Look Who’s Talking?”  Can’t believe it’s been almost 21 years since the original graced the big screen.  It didn’t use any special effects to make it seem as if the kid was talking.  It just used a famous actor’s voice (Bruce Willis) to let us know what the punk was thinking.  It was simple, funny and full of life.  15 years ago, another level was created with “Babe” (the talking pig).  It burst onto the screen both critically and financially, because effects aren’t anything if there isn’t a sweet story to tell.  It was even nominated for a “Best Picture” Oscar.  Ever since then, Hollywood has been using the latest technology to make babies and animals talk in sequence more realistically in its films.  Apparently they are spending all their money and time on the visuals, because a lot of the scripts have left a lot to be desired.  Yes, the kids will probably enjoy the ride of anything you put out there with a talking baby or animal.  For everyone else, however, it would be nice to see more effort spent on the storytelling aspect.

Prediction.
The original in 2001 grossed a total of approximately $93.4 million domestically.  Opening weekend was about $21.7 million.  Even with such kid-friendly material, it’s hard to imagine that a sequel of a film from nine years ago will surpass the original.  I will go with $17.2 million for “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” during its opening weekend.  Overall, I don’t see a domestic gross higher than $60 million this time around.  There are just too many other movie choices for families these days, for this to warrant anything close to the $93.4 million total of the original.
Opening Weekend Gross: $17.2 Million

Noodles.
This trailer reminds me of all the sad spoof movies that they release. Poorly constructed, poorly written, mindless drivel that's aimed at kids. What is it about being under 13 that makes Hollywood disdain making entertainment that's smart and funny. I'm of course omitting such classic fare as 'How to Train your Dragon' and the like. This is a critique of movies like 'Marmaduke' or 'Furry Vengeance' where they take a pitiful concept, add anthropomorphic animals and assume kids will line up in droves. NO! Bad Hollywood!

Prediction.
The trailer makes me sad. I'm thinking this will be out and gone within two weeks. Seems more like a straight to DVD movie. Think 'Air Bud' without the heart and soul.
Opening Weekend: Gross: $9 Million
