The Bouw-Man.
You have to wonder when the end is coming for Adam Sandler. It seems the 44-year old has been making these sorts of films since the beginning of time, yet they keep coming down the pike one to two times a year. The public has not endeared themselves to his dramatic roles (“Punch-Drunk Love,” “Reign Over Me,” “Funny People”), but put him in a “stupid” comedy with a hot girl and his track record is as successful as anyone. Like I said, it has to eventually come to an end. Although it appears Sandler’s best box office days are behind him, I think “Just Go With It” will be a successful vehicle for him. Considering it’s a romantic comedy, starring Hollywood royalty (Sandler and Jennifer Aniston), during the Valentine’s Day weekend, you have to think it will do at least OK. The last Adam Sandler film to come out during the Valentine’s Day holiday was 2004’s “50 First Dates.” It made just under $40 million opening weekend. I can’t see “Just Go With It” doing that well, but $28 million seems doable.
Opening Weekend Gross: $28 Million
Noodles: Prediction
I tend to like most Sandler romantic comedies. Him chasing some hot chick just hits my funny bone. I guess the question is will Jennifer Aniston be a boon or a bust to the drawing power of this film.
Opening Weekend Gross: $30 Million
