Take Me Home Tonight

Director: Michael Dowse
Rating: R

The Bouw-Man.
Last year’s “Hot Tub Time Machine” was a sterling tribute to 80’s sex comedies.  After watching the preview for “Take Me Home Tonight,” I definitely felt a little nostalgia.  I consider the comedies of the 80’s to be the best, so anything that takes me back to that time is a bonus.  It appears the plot is simple enough.  An underachiever (Topher Grace) runs into the girl he had a crush on in school, so he lies to make himself look good.  This leads to an invitation to a party, where he must keep the charade going.  Hysteria coupled with some potentially funny situations is hopefully in store for the audience members who decide to go see “Take Me Home Tonight.”  It may very well be a complete bust, but I’m willing to take a chance on something reminiscent of my youthful days.

With some stiff competition this weekend, it may be tough for “Take Me Home Tonight” to find its niche.  I’m pulling for a $14.5 million weekend for the movie named after the famous Eddie Money song.
Opening Weekend Gross: $14.5 Million

Noodles: Prediction
This is one of those movies that could be really funny or really awful. Can't tell from the trailer. Word of mouth will make or break this one.
Opening Weekend Gross: $14 Million
